Forensic Assessment
The field of forensic psychology seeks to apply psychological research and principles to aid legal decision makers like judges and juries. I provide forensic psychological evaluations for non-profit organizations, state and federal entities, and attorneys who have been privately retained or court-appointed.
All forensic psychological evaluations tend to share certain elements. These include a biopsychosocial interview with the examinee, a review of relevant records, investigation of other collateral sources of information, and psychometric testing. Depending on the referral question, there may be greater or less emphasis on one or more of those components. The referral question also helps guide the selection of psychometric tests, as well as how they will be used in summarizing the findings.
